About Us - Cannabis Dispensary

About Cannabis Dispensary

We're a grassroots platform giving voice to the people who built the cannabis industry—budtenders, patients, cultivators, and advocates fighting for transparency, worker rights, and honest information.

Our Mission

Cannabis Dispensary exists to amplify the voices of real people in the cannabis industry—the budtenders facing wage theft, the patients finding relief after years of suffering, the cultivators exposing safety violations, and the organizers fighting for worker rights.

We believe cannabis is a plant, not a pharmaceutical. It should be treated naturally, accessibly, and without the stigma and barriers that decades of prohibition created. Legalization was supposed to fix this—but instead, we got corporate consolidation, worker exploitation, and an industry that often prioritizes profit over people.

We're here to change that. Through community stories, honest education, transparency ratings, and advocacy campaigns, we're building a movement for a cannabis industry that actually serves the people who built it and the communities who need it.

Our Values

These principles guide everything we do—from the stories we share to the campaigns we support

Community First

We amplify the voices of budtenders, patients, cultivators, and advocates—the people who built this industry from the ground up.

Transparency Always

We expose industry failures, demand accountability, and provide honest information consumers can trust.

Worker Rights

We stand with cannabis workers fighting for fair wages, safe conditions, and dignity in the workplace.

Education Matters

We provide evidence-based information to combat stigma, misinformation, and corporate marketing spin.

Advocacy & Action

We organize campaigns, support policy reform, and mobilize communities to demand systemic change.

Plant Over Profit

Cannabis is a plant, not a pharmaceutical. We advocate for treating it as such—naturally, accessibly, and without unnecessary barriers.

Our Story

Cannabis Dispensary started in 2021 when our founder, Sarah Chen, a former budtender and cannabis journalist, began documenting the stories of cannabis workers facing exploitation in California's legal market.

What began as a blog quickly grew into something bigger. Workers from across the country reached out to share their experiences. Patients shared stories of finding relief after years of suffering. Cultivators exposed safety violations. Advocates organized campaigns for policy reform.

We realized there was a massive gap in the cannabis industry—a lack of platforms that truly represented the voices of workers, patients, and grassroots advocates. Most cannabis media was either corporate marketing or focused on lifestyle and culture. Nobody was centering the people who actually built this industry.

So we built Cannabis Dispensary to be that platform. A place where budtenders could expose wage theft. Where patients could share their journeys without stigma. Where cultivators could demand safety standards. Where organizers could mobilize communities for change.

Today, we've published over 2,800 community stories, created 200+ educational resources, rated hundreds of dispensaries for transparency, and supported campaigns that have won real victories for workers. But we're just getting started.
